FIGHT WORLD HUNGER

A total of 925 million people do not have enough to eat

— more than the populations of the U.S., Canada, and the European Union

combined.

This year, 2.6 million children will die of malnutrition.

Every 12 seconds a child dies from a hunger-related disease

That is 7,100 children a day

and since you've been on this page

40% of corn and 67% of soy in the US is fed to farmed animals.

it takes up to 13 pounds of grain

to produce just 1 pound of meat

If people were to eat the grain itself, an entire village would be fed instead of only one family.

Using an acre to raise cattle for slaughter gives people only 20 pounds of meat

that same amount of land would grow

365 pounds of protein rich soybeans

17 times more people could be saved from starvation

The average American receives

27%

of theircalories

from animal products

If everyone on earth ate this way,

3.2 billion people would have food to eat

3.7 billion people would starve

Use the slider to see how those numbers would change with a different percentage of animal products in the average diet.

27% of calories from animal products

3.2 billion would have food to eat

3.7 billion would starve

When you eat meat, she doesn’t eat.

Make the connection: Save animals and people.

Raising animals for meat is an inefficient use of land that could be used for growing crops for people to eat. The food that is used to feed animals who are then slaughtered for meat would feed more people if they ate the crops directly.

The facts speak for themselves. If the entire world became vegan, there would be enough food to feed us all.
